How to Find Maryland Marriage Records
Maryland State Archives keeps marriage records from 1776 to 2011. Requesters can search the online index for marriage certificates or order copies of these records using the Mail-in Order Form provided on their website. The Maryland State Archives charges $25 for each certified copy requested.

Marriage records show different things depending on the state you are married in, but most commonly, you will have first name and last name of spouses, location and time of marriage, and sometimes witnesses. The date of the marriage will of course be included.

The Div ision of Vital Records (DVR) of the Maryland Department of Health (MDH) issues certified copies of certificates for marriages that occurred on or after January 1, 2007. If a record cannot be located, the certificate fee is not refunded and a Certification of Record Search will be provided.
